Mile High Horror Film Festival Brings Terror to the Rockies

This fall festival in Denver will make you leave the lights on at night!

Featuring some of the scariest movies around, this event is a great way to start off the Halloween season. In past years, the Mile High Horror Festival (MHHF) has been recognized as one of the top horror film festivals in the country, known for bringing you the latest terrifying features before they hit theaters.

This year features a lineup impressive enough to rival any of the past showings of the MHHF. The new horror anthology film, "Tales of Halloween," will receive an early screening. It consists of 10 short horror tales, each directed by an acclaimed master of the genre. One of the directors, Neil Marshall, will be there for a Q&A after the film.

One of the best things about this festival is that many of the actual brewers attend, so you can sample the beer and talk to the people that produce it first-hand. The PRO-AM Competition will also be hosted at the festival, allowing professional craft brewers to highlight recipes from the American Homebrewers Association. If the competition gets you thinking about starting to homebrew for yourself, you can check out the Homebrew Marketplace and talk to the exhibitors there as they showcase their goods and offer advice.

Talented chefs and independent brewers will be combining their talents at the festival for the Paired event, formerly known as “Farm to Table," where small bite dishes are paired with complimentary brews. You can also explore the artistry behind cheese-making with the American Cheese Society in attendance. If you’re one of the many attendees that join the festival as a designated driver, make sure you stop by the Designated Driver Lounge to enjoy samples of craft-brewed root beers and sodas, pick up some festival swag, and get a chair massage, all as a way to say “thank you” from the festival organizers.

Extend your festival experience in the beer capital of the United States with a stay at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
