Take Your Sweet Tooth on a Candy Factory Tour at Hammond’s Candies!

Explore Denver’s most famous candy factory on a tour of Hammond’s Candies.

The holiday season is a big time for sweet treats. From candy canes to chocolate gifts, sweets are a highlight of the time. See where the country’s most famous ribbon candy and candy canes are made on a candy factory tour at Denver’s very own Hammond’s Candies! 

Step into the factory and learn about candy science and Hammond’s Candies’ history. Take in the sweet, sugary aroma while you walk past the candy makers. Tours last approximately 30 minutes long and are one of the most popular things to do in Denver. Reservations for groups under 10 people are not required. After the tour, you can purchase freshly made goods in the factory store that will make perfect gifts for your friends, family, and co-workers.

Blossoms of Light at Denver Botanic Gardens | December 5th - January 1st, 2015
Visit the Denver Botanic Gardens for a beautiful display of lights this holiday season! Over one million brightly colored lights illuminate the garden during Blossoms of Light. Put on HoloSpex glasses for an enhanced look at the lights and enjoy warm beverages and holiday treats as you stroll through the garden. 

A Christmas Carol at Stage Theatre | November 28th - December 28th
Charles Dickens’ classic story has been adapted for the stage with exciting effects and musical numbers. Watch as the grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge finds Christmas spirit after being visited by three ghosts overnight.  

Denver Christkindl Market at Skyline Park | November 21st - December 23rd
German Christmas Markets have been a holiday tradition since the 14th century, and Denver has had the Christkindl Market for 14 years now! Shop for handcrafted gifts and decorations and treat yourself hot spiced wine and other European treats. Meet this year’s Christkind, the traditional German fairy-like gift-bringer of the holidays and enjoy entertainment in the AIT Holiday Tent, which includes traditional German music and dancing.

See the Mile High City Sparkle at the Denver Parade of Lights!

Participate in a Denver holiday tradition by attending the annual Parade of Lights.

Denver does the holidays in a big way each year, especially during the start of winter. Although the sun may be setting earlier, the Mile High City still shines brightly in the evening with thousands of lights. Feast your eyes on the Denver Parade of Lights, one of the city’s oldest holiday traditions!

With the stunningly lit City and County Building and the Denver skyline for a background, thousands of people will gather, both to watch the action and march down the two mile route. Santa and Major Waddles the Penguin will make their annual appearance as well. This year marks a special milestone for the Parade of Lights, as it’s the parade’s 40th anniversary!

Big Bear Ice Arena
The Big Bear Ice Arena is known for providing some of the best indoor ice skating around. Enjoy public skate times or take a lesson. Grab a stick and join a drop-in hockey game, stick and puck session, or even form a team or play as a free agent in the arena’s Big Beer Cup. 

Ice Ranch
The Ice Ranch is known for its diverse programs that have even been featured on TV. Take advantage of public skate time, and if you’re feeling competitive, join in on a game of hockey, Broomball, or curling. Take advantage of the rink’s Zam Camp and drive the Zamboni across the ice! Ice Ranch also has its own restaurant and coffee shop. 

Southwest Rink at Skyline Park
One of the most popular attractions of Mile High Holidays is outdoor skating in Skyline Park! From November 25th, 2014 - February 16th, 2015, Southwest Rink will be open daily to the public. Kids skate for free every Sunday.

Spooky Surprises are in Store at Mile High Halloween Events

Denver offers a wide selection of Halloween events for people of all ages.

Halloween is another holiday that the city of Denver takes seriously. Beginning in September, many of our local museums and other attractions get a spooky transformation for the haunting season. From spooky to sweet, Mile High Halloween events in 2014 offer something for everyone!

Corn Maze at the Denver Botanic Gardens - September 19th - November 1st
One of the best corn mazes in Colorado is back with a new butterfly design! Denver Botanic Garden’s corn maze is 8-acres and features life-sized animal cutouts for kids to find. When it gets dark in October, the maze transforms into a glow maze with black lights and tall glow sticks. If you’re feeling brave once you complete the glow maze, enter the Dead Zone, the garden’s haunted maze. Other Halloween festivities include hayrides, giant pillow jumping, pony and train rides, and pumpkin picking. 

October Ghost Ride with Ebner Tours - October 11th & 18th
Join Ebner Tours on their October Ghost Ride through Cheeseman Park and Capitol Hill. After exploring these locations, a motor coach will take you to Anderson Farms for their corn maze and pumpkin patch. Sit around a fire and enjoy traditional campfire snacks, visit the petting zoo, and go on the Terror of the Corn haunted hayride if you dare.  

Denver Zombie Crawl at Skyline Park - October 18th
Be a human or a “walker” at Guiness World Records’ World Record Zombie Crawl!
